The overall goal of this multinational research project is to develop an effective medicine in the treatment of the early and chronic phases of the Chagas disease, by using the strength, knowledge and experience of the participating institutions. The process implies the activation of groups of scientists from Latin America and the United States, the participation of the NASA in the solution of health problems of public interest, the rational use of natural resources in the search of new medical substances, and the solution to a health problem that affects, mainly, the poorest sectors of Latin America.
